The boy screams as his parents get hauled away from him, he
can only hope.
He whines and moans for the pain is longing inside of him.
A small dark figure approaches to greet the boy, he is
surprised, the boy gropes for him.
The figure kneels down and grabs at the boy, “come now, it’s
time”, the figure whispers.
The boy’s hand is locked in the figure; he now can only wish
to elope.
They arrive at a small muddy piece of land, the globules of
rain pouring down as the boy is tied.
A firing squad stands steadfast aiming at the boy, he can
only hope.
A touching tale with ominous ending
ReplyDeleteVery creative and well-written. It also symbolizes hope throughout. This post may be one of the best blog posts which tells a story at the same and it relates to hope.
ReplyDeleteAll the boy in the poem gets in return for his hope is death. Do you feel that hope is pointless?
